Our Top 5 UK Summer Food Festivals

There’s nothing we love more than a good ol’ food festival, and with summer fast approaching we can’t wait to see what the sunshine season brings. To celebrate one of our favourite times of the year, we’re taking a look at some of the best summer food festivals of 2016, from the city favourites to more local affairs. So if you’re a foodie looking for inspiration, be sure to make a note of some of these in your diary.

Taste of London

English-festivals-1-HQ

One of the biggest foodie events in the capital, Taste of London is a restaurant-based festival that attracts thousands of visitors every year. This time it will take place between 15th and 19th June at Regents Park, and will offer not only great food from 40+ restaurants, but live music, stalls and chef demos from the likes of Hemsley & Hemsley and Cyrus Todiwala.

On top of all this, you’ll also get to enjoy cocktail masterclasses, and flutes of refreshing champagne in the Laurent-Perrier Clubhouse – chin-chin!

Cheltenham Food Festival

English-festivals-2-HQ

Between 10th and 12th June, the beautiful Montpellier Gardens will be hosting the 2016 Cheltenham Food Festival. Visitors will get to enjoy a number of fascinating talks throughout the weekend, including a sushi masterclass by Yo! Sushi, and lessons on how to cure and smoke meat with Steven Lamb of the River Cottage.

Once you’ve had your fill of sushi making and meat curing, you’ll be able to explore the wide variety exhibitors at the festival, including our friends at Simpson’s Fish & Chips. Bonny and James will be serving up quality grub throughout the day, straight from their brand new van, Vanessa – yum!

Great British Food Festival

English-festivals-3-HQ

For something a little more local to Eat Marketing HQ, a visit to the Great British Food Festival at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire should definitely be in the diary. Taking place between 11th and 12th June, this food festival promises to be a fun day out for the whole family.

From the gutsy Men Vs Food competitions, to the competitive Cake Off and entertaining cookery classes for both adults and children, there’s plenty to keep you all busy. But, if you fancy a more laid back weekend, you can sit back, enjoy the live music, and dig into all of the mouth-watering food available.

Junipalooza

English-festivals-5-HQ

Not strictly a food festival, but it’s no secret that we’re big fans of gin here at Eat Marketing. That’s why Junipalooza, a gin-based festival run by the Gin Foundry between 11th and 12th June, is one event we’ll definitely be making the journey down to London’s Tobacco Docks for.

A celebration of all things gin, Junipalooza brings together over 35 Ginsmiths from around the world, each bringing a range of delectable flavours with them. On top of gin tasting, you’ll be able to sample a variety of tonics, and even cocktails shaken up by some of London’s top mixologists.

Meatopia

English-festivals-4-HQ

If you love a summer barbecue, then London’s Meatopia food festival is the 2016 event for you. A celebrity favourite (Gizzi Erskine is a huge fan) Meatopia is a big celebration of British meat, and will be taking place between 2nd and 4th September at the Tobacco Docks. Meat purists around the UK will be treated to a range of beautiful meat dishes that have been cooked over logs and charcoal, and sourced from reputable, local farms.

Butchers, artisans and over 25 chefs from around the world will be coming together to serve up mouth-watering plates you’ll adore. Plus, on top of the amazing food you’ll be treated to top music and great drinks from local breweries to wash down all the quality fare.
