A New Look for Stokes Coffee

Fancy a brew? Here at Eat Marketing, we’ve just completed a fabulous new website for Stokes Coffee and Tea. Stokes are purveyors of fine teas and coffees who roast and blend all their wares for online purchases, and for people to enjoy at their two coffee shops, nestled in the beautiful city of Lincoln.

The brand new Stokes website is now live with a finely crafted new look and feel that captures their ethos perfectly, but for now, let’s go back to the beginning…

Stokes was born in 1902 when the founder of the business, grocer Robert Stokes, began to indulge in his love for the finest teas and coffees. The people of Lincoln soon acquired a taste for the beautiful selection of blends and by 1904, Robert had already won his first medal for his marvellous coffee skills. By 1913, he scooped almost three-dozen more awards and took the plunge to buy his very first café, which he called ‘Arcadia’. During the 1930’s, he moved the premises to the High Bridge Café; the 80’s saw the start of Stokes wholesale and in 2011, Stokes opened their second café in the heart of the Collection Museum, the perfect place to indulge in a cup of coffee, crepes and cake with live music in the background.

As a business, Stokes has flourished, adding new elements to their love for producing the finest blends of tea and coffee with their thriving venture into wholesale and the business it generates from a wide range of hotels, restaurants and other B2B markets, as well as the general public. Their latest café at the Collection Museum is also proving to be a fantastic success and now, they want their branding and website to reflect everything they have accomplished, and the continuing growth of their business.

Upon meeting the family run team at Stokes, we were struck by their commitment and passion for their business and we wanted their website and new look to reflect this and more. Their website needed to keep up with the competition and secure their future as a successful business. To do this, we dug deep into Stokes; we wanted to get to the core of who they are and what they stand for. A great deal of brand analysis and chats over cups of Stokes tea and coffee created a strategy which focused on unique points and made Stokes stand out in a crowd.

Stokes is a fantastic, family run business with a beautiful rich history and we were so excited at the prospect of bringing their dedication, craftsmanship and passion to the fore. The result? An aromatic fusion of style and modern, 21st century design, with a nifty nod to the rich history that makes Stokes who they are. The quirky, image-inducing copy compliments the design and our wonderful range of retro images too. We’ve brought Stokes to life; their story, the family, the cafés, and, of course, the products, which make this business what it is.

Are you ready to have a look? Take a peek…read all about the story of Stokes, browse the new and improved online shop, find their latest news and events, discover more about the High Bridge Café and the Collection Café and see just how clever easy to use navigation can be. The new website is responsive across tablet and mobile devices too. We’ve had a ball working with Stokes and look forward to helping them with other aspects of their marketing in the future. Oh, and their tea and coffee is fantastic too! Try it and see!
