The challenge

Taohua, a contemporary Chinese dining destination in Burton-upon-Trent, was ready to elevate its brand presence and attract more local customers after just one year in operation. With a mission to break away from the common “takeaway” stigma associated with Chinese cuisine, Taohua focuses on serving high-quality dishes in an authentic and beautifully presented setting. The primary goal was to boost their social media presence, specifically aiming to increase weekday covers and reach a wider audience, all while continuing to engage with their existing customer base.

Eat with your eyes

To differentiate Taohua across its social channels, we began by refining the brand’s online presence. This included optimising their social media profiles to better reflect the restaurant’s USPs and crafting a distinct identity that would resonate with a variety of target audiences.

With this in mind, we carried out a high-quality photoshoot, designed to capture the essence of Taohua’s culinary offerings. We developed moodboards, art direction, and a detailed shoot list to ensure every dish was showcased in the most appealing light. These images became the centre of our content plan, allowing us to create visually appealing posts that highlighted the restaurant’s dedication to quality and presentation.

A tasty strategy that works 

Armed with new, vibrant imagery, we developed a content plan that targeted both existing and potential customers in the local and surrounding areas. By combining organic content with strategically placed paid posts, we effectively reached the desired audience. The client specifically wanted to boost bookings during the mid-week, which we targeted through social media with various offers, discounts and engaging social posts. 

To further support Taohua’s social media efforts, we provided full management support, including monthly performance reporting and scheduling. This allowed us to continually refine our approach, ensuring that Taohua’s social presence remained strong and effective.
