The Wigmore Restaurant

Designing an identity for The Wigmore Restaurant

Restaurant branding

The brief

To deliver a new website and branding for The Wigmore Restaurant in Luton, a new all day dining destination.

What we did

Restaurant branding

Expanding a family business

The Wigmore has been serving fish and chips to the people of Luton for over 25 years in their takeaway shop, however they realised their customers were wanting more than what was currently available on the menu.

Following the purchase of a premises just a short stones-throw away from their takeaway shop, the family-run business was able to expand. The Wigmore asked Eat Marketing to help refresh their website and branding for their new 100 seat restaurant to help it become a ‘food destination’ in Luton.

Restaurant branding

Designing a ‘destination’ website

The original Wigmore takeaway logo, fonts and colour palette were all used on the new restaurant website to ensure consistency. However, we evolved the branding to work as its own sub brand, introducing intricate illustrations and a new more friendly tone of voice.

Eat Marketing delivered an SEO friendly, responsive website that showcased all of the exciting elements of The Wigmore Restaurant – from coffee and cake to an all day dining and drinks menu, including a cocktail selection.

The new website featured enticing copy, opening times and five individual menu designs. Customers are also able to book online with an easy to use integrated table booking system.

Bespoke menu design

The Wigmore Restaurant needed a variety of menus that could showcase the brand’s extensive offering. The new menus, designed by Eat Marketing, included a main menu, Sunday roast lunch menu, coffee menu, afternoon tea menu and drinks menu. We also created a cocktail guide for the bar staff with details on how to make individual cocktails.

The menus were all bright and colourful featuring detailed item descriptions that brought plenty of personality. We also worked with the team to establish and name the restaurant’s weekly special offers, such as their ‘Burger Buddy’ Mondays and ‘Tipple Twins’ Tuesdays.

Creative content marketing

To promote the launch of the new restaurant, it was time for The Wigmore to get social. Although the takeaway had a Facebook and Instagram account, neither were used on a regular basis and both needed a bit of TLC.

Eat Marketing created branded social channels for The Wigmore Restaurant and delivered a strong social strategy for the team to refer to moving forward. We also designed a branded email template, which enabled The Wigmore team to be able to promote special offers, run competitions and share interesting news with subscribers.

Continued support

Since The Wigmore Restaurant launched, we have continued to support the brand with website and menu designs as the restaurant offering evolves. We even had an Eat Marketing team trip down to The Wigmore to sample the restaurant menu…all in the name of market research of course! We look forward to continuing to work with The Wigmore, as the business goes from strength to strength.

Restaurant branding

“We’ve been working with Eat Marketing for several years now and can always rely on the team to deliver creative ideas. They really make the effort to understand your brand and audience before going on to create designs that work.”
