Spotlight: Twilight Food

We love a challenge, and that’s why we couldn’t wait to get started when the team behind Twilight Food came to us looking for our help in launching their new online service. With a strong product and a clear target audience in mind, we were soon able to start the process of developing ideas. Here’s how we got on.

Twilight Food

Ready-to-eat meals you just pop in the microwave at work – sounds perfect right? This was the main idea behind Twilight food: to deliver balanced, set meals to those working unusual shift patterns. Unlike many other food boxes on the market, Twilight Food meals don’t require any cooking or preparation, you simply heat them up and dig in.

The Look

After some initial conversations with the Twilight Food team, we were able to understand their proposition and unique selling points to help inform the overall strategy and design of their brand. A number of strong ideas were bandied around, but there was one route which really stood out to both us and Twilight, and that’s what you can see today. With strong and clear font, and an icon that reflects the timely nature of shift work, the Twilight brand blends a combination of inspiring photography and neutral colours.

In terms of a website design, we brought the concept of shift work and time to life through a moving clock, which depicts the correct time. We also produced a mobile-first design, a feature that ensures customers are able to easily order their meal boxes from their mobile phones. So whether they’re sat at home on their desktop or busy at work with their phone, sorting out their next meal is easy.

Not only did the Twilight website need to act as a central hub for information, as an ecommerce site it also needed to be a point of business. Our team of developers and web designers worked with the tool WooCommerce to deliver a custom food box service, where customers could pick and choose their meals.
