Why Eat Marketing are supporting Coventry Foodbank this Christmas

This Christmas, to mark our 10th birthday we’ll be supporting our local Coventry Foodbank by completing The Trussell Trust’s Lapland Step Challenge, a 20km trek throughout December. This is a virtual expedition across Lapland to raise money and help families who are unable to afford the essentials we take for granted, this Christmas.

This year food banks had their busiest August and September on record, and right now an emergency food bank parcel is being given out every 13 seconds. The cost of living crisis has hit people hard and put things into perspective for a lot of people, including ourselves, which is why we want to support Coventry Foodbank this Christmas and help those that need it most during the festive season.

The Trussell Trust works with a network of food banks across the UK and are fighting to help keep food banks going this winter with an emergency fund appeal to help meet the increased need.

Every team member will be sponsored by Eat Marketing and they have the whole of December to complete the walk. Our donations will help food banks that are having to buy food, on a scale they’ve not seen before, or who are struggling with increased running costs. It will also help ensure that there’s always a listening ear, ready to provide information and support – helping people facing financial hardship, to access the benefits and grants they’re entitled to.
