Simpsons Fish and Chips in Cheltenham first opened its doors in 2009, and were looking for a long-term agency that would make them stand out from the average fish and chip shop, and to entice people from all over the UK to come in for a quirky, tasty, and enjoyable ‘Simpsons experience’.

The brand required expression, impact, and a marketing approach no other fish and chip shop had achieved before. From the unique tattoo illustration style of mermaids and sailors, to the typographic logo, a strong strapline of “Long live fish and chips”, crest symbol, and packaging, right through to the kids microsite branding, out-of-the-box social posting – which frequently involved battered creme eggs or black batter for Halloween, and the event van branding, the unique Simpsons experience is consistently captured throughout the brand.

When Simpsons’ second shop in Stroud opened, the website also needed the flexibility to be able to add new locations and information as the business grew. We also wanted to bring together all the aspects that make the brand who they are, whilst making it engaging for users. Simpsons are passionate about using locally-sourced and sustainable produce, so it was important the website highlighted this along with how much support they give to their staff.
The client’s parents have also worked in the industry prior to opening the shop, so the website offered a chance to show that industry experience wasn’t just a given at Simpsons, it was in their genes.

Having worked with and supported Simpsons for over a decade, we’ve built a strong bond of creativity into our relationship. Simpsons Fish and Chips has grown into an award-winning, well-known and highly respected brand in the fish and chip industry, and truly recognised by customers alike.
